The 3-month program giving you everything you need to outline, write, edit, publish, and print your book as a first-time author.
You’re not a professional writer and you don’t know what you don’t know about the world of publishing.
In your heart, you have the desire and the drive to write a children’s book. Still, everywhere you look, it seems like books like yours just aren’t getting picked up by mainstream publishing houses or popping up at your local library.
There is a place for your book because we NEED your story and all stories that reflect the world we live in. Your story can create a better future for kids who don’t currently see themselves reflected back in the books they read.
Have a book that’s ready to be produced and globally distributed.
Experience the magic of the creative writing process and nourish the inner writer within.
Tap into your inner child and write stories that connect with and inspire kids.
Feel the joy of sharing experiences through the process of writing a children’s book.
If you’ve been feeling that familiar tug to write your book and finally turn a childhood experience, an inspiring story, or another imagining into a beautiful children’s book that young readers can enjoy, you’re in the right place.
Start the program strong by discovering your why, beginning the outlining process, and embarking upon your writing journey.
Now that you’ve created your book map, it’s time to get writing. This module will give you the guidance, direction, and safe space to write your story with a guided framework that will bring ease to the writing process.
Once you’ve written your story, it’s time to find an illustrator to render the story into visuals that will connect with your readers and bring the story to life.
Now that your illustrator is on board, it’s time to make your book look as professional as possible when your readers discover it on bookstore shelves.
It’s finally time to see your story come to life as a printed book! You’ll learn exactly what goes into printing a book to ensure you have the best possible end product.
Finally, your book is ready for the bookstore! Whether you’re self-publishing or finding a traditional publisher, you’ll find out exactly what you need to do to get your book into the hands of young readers.

When I moved to America and looked around at the stories being told, I just couldn’t identify with the predominant narrative. It felt wrong to me that the first books children read show brown people being oppressed, that some writers are pigeonholed into writing about certain things because of what publishers think people want to read. When I read to my own kids, I read them books about animals, vegetables and inanimate objects having adventures so they wouldn’t take on those messages.
My own stories went on to see success after this realization: my debut novel Forberedelsen became a bestseller in Norway, and my first children’s book Mae Among the Stars, published by HarperCollins, is in its twentieth printing and available at bookstores all around the world.
Mae Among the Stars was a Barnes & Noble Book of the Month and Parents magazine Book of the Year, with 5-star reviews from The Conscious Kid and thousands of readers, seeing success as a teacher’s and editor’s pick alike. It’s even one of Jessica Alba’s favorite books!
Because of this book and the stories I’ve written since, I’ve been a guest speaker in Marie Forleo’s B School, Cheryl Strayed’s writing workshop, and done readings at over 200+ schools and festivals.
As a publisher, I’ve worked with Kelly Rowland, Vera Ahiyya, and many others to help them develop their own children’s books, which have gone on to get their own rave reviews, editor’s pick placements, and placement in libraries & bookstores all over the world. Our books have received Kirkus Starred Reviews and we’ve donated 10,000+ of our own books to share great stories with kids everywhere. We’ve attracted today’s top authors, with 20+ books on the shelves and many more in development.
Those stories that well-meaning adults read to us as children? They shape us as adults, but when we write books that reflect the diversity of the world, all kids get to see themselves as astronauts, artists, engineers, firefighters, explorers and learn how to count from kids that look like them.
There’s room in the world for YOUR book. If you have the desire and passion to write, there is an untold story inside of you. I created this course to connect authors and illustrators around the world so they can make books that reflect the world we live in.
Will you join us? I’m truly excited to welcome you into this course. I congratulate you for the incredible work you’re doing. Let’s get to work!
Everyone is a writer. (Yes, even you!) If you’re interested in books and you have an untold story within you, it needs to be told! In this program, you’ll discover a safe, welcoming space and a community of first-time writers cheering you on as you write your books together.
Of course! I’m showing you exactly how I created and sold my book so that you can go on to self-publish or pitch your book to an agent. It’s totally up to you!
I created this course for people who are ready to write, publish, and make their children’s book available for sale. While the course can be taken by someone who does not intend to sell their book, keep in mind that the program does include material that solely focuses on finding and hiring an illustrator, obtaining an ISBN number, and other considerations when it comes to printing your books. If you want your book to closely resemble a picture book that might be sold in bookstores, you’ll learn what you need to ensure that the final product is as professional as possible but keep in mind that there is some additional investment involved if you choose to go this route.
This course will give you everything you need to outline, write, publish, and have the knowledge to print your book. Still, there are some additional costs involved to make your book look and feel as professional as possible, including hiring an illustrator, choosing an art director, and printing costs.
We not only create these books, but we also celebrate them. We believe in publishing stories that empower the younger generation to believe these messages: you matter in this story. You’re important. This world needs you. You can do anything you dream of doing. There are no limits for your beautiful mind.
It’s time the books on our shelves displayed every voice, every color, and every diverse trait children possess.
